Everything about design. You just couldn’t’ see the end to it. The end? Please? You please just show me where it ends?
It is very easy to start drawing. And I was grand too, with a pencil and a sheet of paper. I draw something. Guaranteed. There was no problem. It wasn’t what I saw that stopped me, my friend. It was what I didn’t see. You understand that? What I didn’t see. On the big sheet of white paper there was everything except an end. There was no end. What I did not see was where the whole thing came to an end. The border of how far your ideas could go...
Take a photo. You press the shutter; you get a picture. With light and shadow, you get what you want there, nobody can tell you any different. They are not infinite. You are infinite. And among the real world the photos you can get is infinite. I like that. That I can live by. When you take a pen and let your mind goes far and wide and get millions of pictures, millions and billions of pictures that never ends and that’s the truth, my friends, that they never end, everyone have infinite idea. And if you have infinite idea but nothing to limit you then on the paper there is no design you can create, no pictures you can draw, you are drawing at the wrong table. That’s god’s canvas.
Christ! Did, did you think of making an object? Just an object… there were thousands of them! And how could you choose just one to be your next project? One drawing, one dress, one blueprint, one style of designing… all that idea is weighing down on me. You don’t even know where it comes to an end, and aren’t you ever just scared of breaking apart at the thought of it? The varieties of how much design you can make?
I was born on this world, and everything passed me by, but through my eyes and other senses. And there were ideas too, but never more than fit between my sight, you record your happiness with a picture, but in as photo that you can take. I learned to design that way,
Design? Design is a world too big for me. It’s a woman too beautiful; it’s a voyage too long, perfume too strong. It’s a landscape I don’t know how to record. I could never reach the end of design. After all, I’m not even starting to design. We all have to explore in the infinite world of design by our own and we better get used to it. Therefore, my friend, I’m learning photography.
